Course: Bachelor of Interactive Multimedia DesignWe arrived to Phnom Penh International Airport on 18 July 2011 around 8.00 pm. The flight from Malaysia to Cambodia took us about 2 hours. We are greeted by our beloved lecture, Mr. Shan, the person-in-charge, En. Megat and our seniors, Bukhari and Basit.
Firstly, they brought us to our rent house at Rambombung Shadam Thkor and later, they took us out for lunch and show us the restaurants that provide Halal’s food to us. They also took us around Phnom Phen and showed us the culture and lifestyle of the people around here. Before they send us back to our rented house, we had a dinner at D’Nyonya Restaurant which located nearby Central Market.
Actually before we went to Cambodia, our parents were really nervous, and we just really wanted to go. We were really nervous too; more about the flight, because once we was there everything went fine.
On the second day, we got up early to prepare our first meeting with the Royal University Agriculture. In this meeting, we had discussed regard our project and we are have be given our job descriptions. We are also introduced to the university officers and they showed us around the university for us to adaptation with the culture and familiar with the university environment.
Overall, Cambodia has many attractive place and culture that we didn’t imagine before us coming here. We also can call Cambodia as a shopping paradise because they sell almost everything here such as food, bag, clothes, electronic gadget, groceries and etc with the cheapest prices.
We also had so much fun learning the Cambodian culture, spending time with the Cambodian people, exploring their city and getting to know a whole new way of life. We were comfortable in the community and barely experienced cultural shock.

The one week we was here, we felt like we was making a difference; they were always so excited to see us and they try to become friendly to us. We realize that was really rewarding when the people understood what we was trying to say. The language barrier could get frustrating, but when the people understood us and there was a break through, it felt so great.
