Corporate video in the making.. Part 1

After days of drafting and planning, finally we manage to get the permission from the rector to shoot some videos at RUA for their corporate video. We discussed with Mr Sovatna about the schedule of the video shooting at every departments in RUA. The shootout took two days. We set up with him to start shooting early in the morning as we know that it will get hotter during the afternoon.

On the first day, we came early and waited for Mr. Sovatna’s friend to come. Mr. Teany who then assisted us in the whole shootout came and he also provides the necessary equipment for us to shoot the video. He told us he really loves to take pictures and videos. He was a very friendly person and we can see his passion in cameras.

We started shooting at the Animal Science and the Forestry faculty. We took some videos inside the class while the lecturer was teaching in front of some students. Their students and staffs were really helpful and willing to participate in the video. They were cooperative and really do know how to act in front of cameras. We also took some videos of the surroundings at both of the faculties.

Next, we went to the faculty of Agronomy. We took some videos in the classroom and also their laboratories. One lab was doing research on soil and the other one was researching on microorganisms. We set up with their lecturers to ask the students to act in front of the camera by doing something with the equipments and apparatuses in the lab. We then went to the crop station to capture some videos of the corn crops.

At the Agro-industry faculty we recorded some students baking blueberry cookies in the workshop. We asked for some of the cookies and the students pack some which were freshly baked. After that we went to the labs to take some videos of the students operating the lab equipments and how to create grape wine. Next we went to shoot inside the class at the Rural Development faculty.

Then, we took some video outside the Land Management faculty where some of their students demonstrating on how to measure the land. With the help of their lecturer, we arranged the students to act for us. We then pursuit to the faculty of Agricultural Management and Technology (ATM) and capture some videos of their farm and workshop. Before we stop and rest for a while, we went to the Animal Station to record some videos.

We went back to the IT Center to have a break for one hour. We took this opportunity to copy the video data and charge the camera’s battery. We were really tired and some of us took a short nap. We told Mr. Teany that we don’t have much time as it was getting late. So, we decided to continue the recording at the Academic Affairs area and Research Center.

We continued our video shoot at the Academic Affairs area and we took some videos inside the Bio Lab where they process the Khmer Wine.  We also recorded some videos of the students watching their exam results. Lastly before going back, we went to the Research Center which is our last place to record for the day. When we entered the place we were really shocked to see they were doing research on dogs. The smell of the lab was nasty. We don’t have a choice but to bear with the smell because we need to get the video inside the lab.

After finish recording at the Research Center, we called it a day and decided to go home. We continued to take some more videos on the next day. It was really tiring but we really did enjoy ourselves. Okay, we will continue to talk about the second day of video shooting in the next entry.
