With grace of Allah, we are able to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia while we were in Cambodia. We were invited by the Embassy of Malaysia to celebrate this wonderful event at Nagaworld Hotel. We feel so proud and happy that we got to celebrate Malaysia day even though it is not as big as in Malaysia.
On that wonderful night, Dato' Pengiran Haji Mohd Hussein bin Dato' Pengiran Hj Mohd Tahir Nasruddin as the ambassador of Malaysia in Cambodia gave a speech to us as an introduction of the event and followed by the Deputy of Prime Minister of Cambodia. The speech was a meaningful one for us as the citizen of Malaysia. All the information which was delivered to us was beneficial and we are grateful to become Malaysian. On that night also, the guests were served with a lot of delicacies such as western cuisines; steak, fast food and Asean cuisines; noodles, “Nasi Beriani” and traditional food. The taste was so delicious and we felt so grateful to have tasted different kind of food in Phnom Pehn.
On that historic day, we were entertained with our traditional Malaysian dance. The dancers were invited specially from collaboration of polytechnic throughout Malaysia. They performed dances like “Mak Yong”, “Ulik Mayang” and so on. Their dance movements were in order and graceful and made all of us mesmerized. We felt the uniqueness and specialty of our cultural dance on that night. As usual Kelly and Faiz became the photographers for the embassy side. They did their job well and worked hard to capture best snap shots to make them as token of appreciation for the event.
We also had the opportunity to get to know with all the guests who were present on that night and shared many stories and experiences. Through their thinking manner and conversation, we learned a lot and will try to improve ourselves to achieve our aim in life. One of the most important things that I learned is that “Punctuality”. As we know, all of us have our things to do, but when we promise to meet or do something at a particular time, we must make sure that we are so on time. We must learn to be on time always, since time is an asset which we need to emphasize in all matters. For me, this is the important things I will remember and use in my life.
Finally, these are some pictures that we managed to capture during the Malaysia Day celebration that we wish to share with everybody.
“Happy Malaysia Day and Peace for All”
