Currency VS Language

As we all know, in Cambodia we use the USD and Riel as the main currency and it is totally different compare to our country. At first, we were totally excited because we use the USD and Riel money but in the end we were a bit confused because it was difficult to use it. This was our first time to purchase goods or pay a bill using foreign money. Sometimes it took time to calculate the money especially in Riel but now we are already got use to it as we frequently use it.

1000 Riel = RM0.75

$100 = RM300

Here, the sellers also had some difficulties to understand the English language and moreover our Malay language. Sometimes when we spoke to them in English, their respond is difference and it was really hard for us to talk and give direction to them or ask for something. It was funny when talking with them, like chickens and ducks. Then we decided to learn some Khmer words which we frequently use. So everyday we learn some Khmer words with the owner of our rent house owner, Bong Marnith and her nephew Bong Phiney. It is for our own good to survive here in a foreign country.
