Knuckle under and start to work

It was the 1^st of February and we woke up very early considering it was our first day of work. We were so excited since we happened to work late while our practical friends in Malaysia had started working earlier. We were figuring how it would be to work here. Riding our neighbor, Bong Vandy’s tuktuk, we eagerly went to work. He is a very nice person and he offers the cheapest tuktuk fare in Phnom Penh for us, because we are foreigners and we will never get the same price riding other tuktuks.

The 5 great students were divided into two groups; Ajip, Nana and Nani went to RUA where as Bad and Apai went to FIA. The RUA group started their day by having a meeting with Dr Seng Mom, Mr Kuch, Mr Lytour, Mr Sovatna, Miss Pheakdey, and Mr Salan. They discussed about networking problems in RUA, and the RUA corporate video project. Then they walked around RUA to survey the network system in the university.

At the FIA, Bad and Apai had a meeting with Dr Sochivi. They had a discussion about how to create a new FIA website. They also talked about the climate change and food safety project. The language barrier makes things more interesting. It was quite hard for us to recognize their words, even they were speaking in English. We were given new offices for us to work at both places. The offices are cozy and the environment is suitable for working even though the internet connections are quite slow.

All the projects need to be completed within the four months we work here. We need to concentrate on the projects and we hope to finish it by the time we have to go home. Slowly we will adept with the new environment and with all the support given we will give our best. We will try to finish all the projects with passion and enjoy this journey. After all as Aristotle said, pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.
